the shire

Sorry to hear that 'the shire' have decided to have a non-playing season this year ....I thought they battled well on Saturday despite the 4-0 scoreline. Just hope there decision not to participate this season doesn't back fire........remember Bailleston!! Anyway special mention to our boys on Saturday, thought they cruised the game and probabaly should've been more. They played some terrific football in difficult conditions. Was a bit wary about the forward line of Maxi and Pattison considering the big man was just back from injury and with O'Donnell and Chalmers on fire.......albeit though Wes played superbly and linked up great. Thought Big Maxi worked really hard was desperatley unlucky with his Ronaldinhoesque chip, couldn't believe it didn't bobble over the line, hard lines Big Man. Thomson, Garscadden and Smith were the other stand outs for me and great to see wee Chalmers banging in another couple of goals. Looking forward to Saturday now ........Moan the field

All games against the shire are now null and void so Ashfield have 3 points only.

Garscadden`s got a cracking left foot, Big Maxi was brilliant and Chalmers is playing out his skin & full of confidence. Looking forward to Saturday v Clydebank
