i would be gratefull for any history j niven who played for the club in the 1906 -07 G J F L FINAL as i have the medal he was presented with 9ct gold engraved on the back and the glasgow coat of arms in enamel on front i would be glad of any info.

Glenafton Athletic 1 Ashfield 4
Well done Ashfield. It makes a difference to towns and clubs when the visitors use local facilities, especially the pubs. The Ashfield Reps (team & committee) did the club and the town proud on and off the pitch and then visited the local Glens Bar. Thanks lads. Come back anytime. Cheers, Aulyin

Ashfield head down to Beechwood Park to take on Scottish Junior Cup Holders Auchinleck Talbot in the next round. Date still to be confirmed.
- Great Draw and an excellent opportunity to play against one of the Junior `big boys ` again where we have done well in the past couple of seasons. |

Embarrassing, Rankin gets result he deserves,3 - 2 flattered Ashfield.Route one seems to be our main play and how many awful dead ball kicks does tommo have to take before someone else has a go. As i say embarrassing. Oh and yes another red card,Stevie also deserves one for his tactics.

It was difficult to choose the man of the match for Ashfield on Saturday for most of their players had a decent game although they were rather dis-jointed in the first half as a team. The Managers half time talk and subsequent substitutions completely changed the pattern of the game and all the players could make a case for being man of the match on their second half showing. In my view I would have chosen Maxwell, for his general performance over the whole 90minutes was outstanding.

Good game and was enjoyable to watch, but I was amazed with some of the referee's decisions. The amount of small decisions he got wrong was terrible and the big decisions were even worse. The glens fans next to me could not believe why the referee called for offside with Maxwells header when he has a linesman there who never raised his flag. BIG DECISION! The Glens No.3 should have been sent off for a second yellow when he took out one of the fields players on the half way line when attacking. BIG DECISION! Before any Glens fans start to think I'm being biased I would like to say well done, as you took your chances well, when mistakes were made and that was difference. Looking at both teams today I cannot see why both could do what hey did last year and move up to the top level together. Field keep the heads up and get on a winning foot next starting next week.
