Ashfield welcome our near neighbours Kirkintilloch Rob Roy to Saracen Park this Saturday (28/1/2012) in the West SuperLeague Premier Division - Kick-Off 1.45pm. Both teams are on the 20 point mark and keen to progress further up the League. The `field have a couple of games in hand and will be looking for a repeat performance of the previous game at Adamslie Park when a great display saw the `field run out 5-2 winners. Ashfield progressed into the last 16 of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park, Dundee today (21/1/2012). The `field opened the scoring early in the first half courtesy of a Mark Thomson Penalty after Shaun Fraser had been brought down in the box. Ashfield had further chances to increase their lead however were up against a very strong Dundee Violet Team who had been undefeated at home all Season. Ashfield produced an outstanding Second Half display to sweep Cumnock aside by 3-0 at Saracen Park this afternoon (14/1/2012) in the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup. Leading 1-0 at the interval through a Robert Wright goal, Ashfield lay siege on the Cumnock defence and scored a further 2 goals through Paul Maxwell and Robert Halliday. Ashfield will head up to Dundee next week in the Scottish Junior Cup with confidence on the back of this display. Ashfield and Kilbirnie Ladeside fought out a goal-less but entertaining game in dreadful weather conditions at Valefield Park, Kilbirnie this afternoon (7/1/2012) in the West SuperLeague Premier Division. Both teams deserve credit for putting on a decent showing with both Goalkeepers in top form. Ashfield almost nicked it in injury time when a netbound header from William Ferguson was saved by the Ladeside Keeper but overall a draw was a fair result. Ashfield made it through to the 4th Round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup winning 2-0 under floodlights against Whitletts Victoria at Dam Park, Ayr this afternoon (17/12/2011). Two goals from Shaun Fraser ensured that the `field will be heading up to Dundee in the 4th Round, taking on Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park. Ashfield started and finished well, scoring in the 4th & 92nd Minute against a luckless Whitletts Victoria who put on a very good show & will up there fighting for promotion in the West SuperLeague First Division this Season. Ashfield equalised with 5 Minutes to go against Whitletts Victoria in the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup 3rd Round to take the tie back down to Dam Park, Ayr next Saturday. As expected it was an extremely tough Match and the real winner was the Weather with treacherous underfoot conditions coupled with a swirling wind and driving rain. Both teams deserve credit for trying to play Football however it was Whitletts that probably adapted better to the conditions. Ashfield finished strongly equalising in the 85th Minute before almost winning it through a Chris Hall shot and then were denied a penalty in injury time. Ashfield equalised in the dying Minutes courtesy of a Mark Thomson header to secure a valuable point against `the Bankies` at Saracen Park on Saturday (19/11/2011) in the West SuperLeague Premier Division. Both teams had excellent results last week to `bounce` back from the week before and as always between these two teams it was a really competitive game. Ashfield suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Auchinleck Talbot at Beechwood Park today (5/11/2011) in the West SuperLeague Premier Division. After going down 2-0 early in the Match, the `field pulled a goal back through Chris Hall however the home side scored a further three goals before half time courtesy of some clinical finishing and individual errors from the `field. Ashfield continued to press forward in the Second Half and brought on Ferguson & McCann in a bid to reduce the deficit however the Home Side regularly counter-attacked with pace & determination and were clinical in their finishing to inflict one of our biggest defeats in recent history. It`s only 3 points lost and the boys will dust themselves down and prepare accordingly for the visit of Cumnock to Saracen Park next Saturday (12/11/2011). Ashfield progressed into the 3rd Round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup after coming from a Goal behind to defeat a talented Bathgate Thistle side 2-1 at Creamery Park, Bathgate this afternoon (29/10/11). The `field found themselves a goal down after 14 Minutes and had to withstand further pressure before settling into the game & missed two glorious chances to level in the first half. Ashfield`s Captain Mark Thomson equalised for Ashfield in the 51st Minute before picking up a 2nd booking to leave the `field with 10 Men. This did not stop Ashfield`s pressure on the home goal and were rewarded when Shaun Fraser whipped the ball into the box for William `Wasso` Ferguson to guide the ball in and put the Glasgow Team into the hat for the 3rd Round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup. Ashfield suffered a heavy defeat to Arthurlie by 5-2 at Saracen Park this afternoon (22/10/2011) in the West SuperLeague First Division. Ashfield could not have had a better start to the Match as within 2 minutes the `field were 1-0 up however some clinical finishing from Arthurlie throughout the first half had the `lie going in 4-1 up at the Interval. Despite pushing forward at every opportunity in the Second Half, it was the visitors that increased their lead on the hour mark through McLay. Ashfield defeated Petershill 3-1 at Saracen Park today (15/10/11) in the First Round of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup. This is the first time that the `field have beaten the `Peasie` for many years & had to work extremely hard despite Petershill being reduced to 9 men after an hour. Goals from Mark Thomson (Pen), Shaun Fraser and Paul Maxwell ensured that the `field continued their terrific run and gained a bit of revenge for a 3-2 defeat earlier in the Season in the Sectional League Cup Quarter Final. Ashfield continued their terrific form with a 4-0 victory over Pollok at Saracen Park today (8/10/11) and moved to the top of the West SuperLeague Premier Division. After a very even First Half where Ashfield managed to get their `noses in front` courtesy of a Robert Halliday Goal, the `field stepped up a gear in the Second Half and produced an excellent display against a very experienced Pollok Team with further goals from Mark Thomson, Paul Maxwell & Gary McCann. Ashfield progressed to the 2nd Round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup with a terrific display in Aberdeen against Banks `O Dee this afternoon (1/10/2011) winning by 6-1. The `field were up against it after 10 minutes when the home side scored however goals from Chris Hall, a bulleted header from Paul Maxwell and a goal from Shaun Fraser had the `field 3-1 up at the interval. Ashfield toppled the League Leaders Rob Roy at Adamslie Park, Kirkintilloch this afternoon (17/9/2011) producing a terrific display of attacking Football to win by 5-2. Ashfield had not visited Kirkintilloch on League Business for many years & made up for lost time with two early goals from Chris Hall before being pegged back by a Gorman strike. However the `field went on to score further first half goals from Ali Martin & Shaun Fraser to go in 4-1 up at the Interval. When Paul Maxwell added a fifth early in the 2nd half, the `field were in `Dreamland`. The Home side never sat back & were rewarded late on by a Fulton strike from 22 yards. Ashfield produced a terrific performance against Kilbirnie Ladeside at Saracen Park today (10/9/11) in the West SuperLeague Premier Division winning 6-1 and producing numerous other chances to climb a place in the League Table to 5th. It had been an end to end opening period & the visitors were delighted to take the lead through Craig Feroz midway through the Half. Ashfield went on to miss a Penalty however by this stage Kilbirnie were down to 10 Men. Eventually Ashfield scored through Chris Hall & went in front just before the interval courtesy of a Mark Thomson penalty. Chris Hall scored a 3rd for Ashfield at the start of the 2nd Half & from then on in it was one way traffic. Ashfield continued their excellent form at Holm Park, Yoker today (3/9/11) winning 3-0 against Clydebank in the West SuperLeague Premier Division. Both promoted Teams had made an identical start with one victory in their first three League games however it was the `field that produced the goods today with a tremendous Team Performance. Ashfield failed to capitalise on an excellent away victory at Beith last Saturday by going down 2-1 to Largs Thistle at Saracen Park this afternoon (27/8/2011) in the West SuperLeague Premier Division. The `field made a bright start & should have been ahead before Largs were awarded a penalty midway through the 1st Half. Ashfield headed down to Bellsdale Park to take on Beith Juniors in the West SuperLeague Premier Division this afternoon (20/8/11) and came back up the A737 to Glasgow with a terrific 3 Points. Leading 1-0 at Half Time through a Tony Chalmers Goal, the `field were pegged back with 22 minutes to go before Shaun Fraser scored a sensational winner to the delight of the travelling support. Despite being put under pressure in the closing stages it was the `field who almost increased their lead further & Gary McCann & then Tony Chalmers were thwarted late on by the Beith Keeper. Ashfield lost narrowly to Petershill in the `Springburn Derby` this evening (17/8/2011). After coming back from 2-0 down, the `field lost a last Minute Goal to go out of the League Cup at the same stage as last Season. Ashfield suffered an opening day defeat 2-1 by Cumnock Juniors at Townhead Park, Cumnock this afternoon (13/8/2011) and will be disappointed at not coming back up the road to Glasgow with at least a share of the spoils. Trailing 2-0 at the interval courtesy of two clinical finishes by the home side, Ashfield pulled a goal back with 15 mins to go to ensure a storming finish. Ashfield headed back to Holm Park this evening (15/8/11) to take on Yoker Athletic in the final Sectional Match having already qualified for the Quarter Finals. It was the `whey-ho` that triumphed in an entertaining Match by 4-3. A much-changed Ashfield Team trailed 1-0 at the break before leading 3-2 midway through the Second Half before the Home Team continued their form from last Saturday when they beat St Anthony`s 3-1, to score a couple to win the Match. Ashfield produced yet another excellent display at Holm Park, Yoker this afternoon (6/8/11) in the Sectional League Cup defeating Clydebank 2-1 to ensure Quarter Final Qualification for the fourth Season running. Ashfield have been drawn at home to our old Rivals and neighbours Petershill in the First Round of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland Cup. This is the first time we have played Petershill since the 2004-05 Season when Petershill won a 3-2 Scottish Junior Cup Tie at Lochburn Park. The Cup Tie will take place on Saturday 15th October 2011 at Saracen Park - Kick-Off 2pm.

Ashfield held their Annual Player of the Year Dance last night (17/6/11) at the Ashfield Bar in Hawthorn Street. Jim Smith picked up 3 Awards (Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer & Website Player of the Year) with Gary McCann lifting the Player`s Player of the Year Award. Ashfield lost out on Penalties tonight at Dunterlie Park, Barrhead against Arthurlie in the Evening Times Cup Winners Cup Quarter-Final after a very enjoyable 1-1 draw. It looked like the `field had booked their Semi-Final place against Irvine Meadow on Saturday, leading 1-0 & with Arthurlie down to 10 men, however the home side equalised with 4 minutes remaining to take the tie into Penalties. For the 2nd Season running the Arthurlie keeper denied Ashfield from the spot to progress. A very good Ashfield performance this evening in front of a large & vociferous crowd. Ashfield overcame a talented Girvan side (2-0) at Saracen Park today (4/6/2011) in the final West SuperLeague First Division game of the Season to be crowned Champions. The players put on a really professional performance on a big day for the Club to take the Title on Goal difference from Clydebank. The most pleasing aspect of a wonderful day and Season was the way the players have consistently produced great Football & Goals however the response from Ashfield`s biggest Crowd for years was absolutely superb. A massive `pat on the back` to Stevie Rankin & his Management Team, Committee and of course our loyal band of Supporters who have grown in numbers this Season. It was great to see so many ex-Players and young & old Supporters turning out to cheer the `field on. Next Season will be exciting & extremely tough but lets enjoy this wonderful achievement. Ashfield produced another tremendous Performance at Holm Park, Yoker this Afternoon (21/5/11) against Clydebank in the West SuperLeague First Division to win 2-0 and gain Promotion to the Premier Division . A Goal in each half by Tony Chalmers and Jim Smith was enough to deny Clydebank the Championship and now offers the `field a chance to clinch top spot & the Championship. However it was all about achieving Promotion today and Ashfield had to `work their socks off` in torrential rain to achieve this memorable victory. Ashfield won in dramatic fashion against Cumbernauld Utd at Guy Meadow this afternoon (14/5/11) scoring the winner 3 minutes into injury time after losing the lead 2 minutes earlier. It was a real `ding-dong` battle starting in the 3rd Minute when Cumbernauld took the lead. Goals from Chris Hall & Paul Maxwell ensured the `field went in 2-1 up at the interval. Ashfield bowed out of the D&D Programmes Central League Cup at Saracen Park this evening (20/4/11) losing heavily to Clydebank by 4-0. Ashfield welcomed Shotts Bon Accord to Saracen Park today (16/4/11) for the first time on League Business since the 1997/98 Season and it is the Home side that will probably be feeling the better this evening. Ashfield bounced back from Saturday`s defeat at Bellshill with a memorable victory at Western Park, Renfrew this Evening (13/4/2011) in the West SuperLeague First Division. Ashfield agonisingly lost 3 late goals to 10-Man Bellshill Athletic this afternoon (9/4/11) in the West SuperLeague First Division. It looked like the `field would come away with 3 valuable points as they opened their account through Ferguson on the hour mark. Ashfield produced a terrific Second Half performance against very difficult opponents in Whitletts Victoria at Saracen Park yesterday (26/3/2011) in the West SuperLeague First Division to win 3-2 & haul themselves further up the League. It was a very competitive Match and the visitors held the upper hand for the first hour before Ashfield equalised and then proceeded to take over. Ashfield narrowly lost out to Beith Juniors today losing 3-2 in a great cup tie. The home side were comfortable at Half Time leading 2-0 but Ashfield dominated most of the Second Half and stormed back with goals from Fraser and Thomson to level the match. Ashfield won a crucial encounter at the Showpark, East Kilbride this afternoon (26/2/11) winning 2-0 in a tough Match which saw the `field end the game with 9 Men. Ashfield failed to capitalise on their away win at Annbank going down 3-2 at home to Cumbernauld Utd this afternoon (5/2/11) at a damp Saracen Park. Ashfield produced an outstanding performance this afternoon at a Foggy New Pebble Park, defeating Annbank Utd by 4-0. Ashfield and Glenafton Athletic shared the points at Saracen Park today (20/11/10) in the West SuperLeague First Division. Ashfield had the better of the First Half and went in 1-0 up at the Interval courtesy of a terrific Goal from Tony Chalmers. Ashfield eventually overcame a very determined Kilsyth Rangers Team at Duncansfield Park this afternoon (16/10/10) in the First Round of the West of Scotland Cup. Ashfield put on a tremendous show in the Second Half and should have had the Match sewn up well before Jim Smith put the `field ahead with 7 minutes left on the Clock. Kilsyth who had played some good Football also in the Match lost their discipline after going behind and after an almighty `melee `caused by a head-butting incident, the Rangers were reduced to 9 Men. Ashfield have been drawn away to Blantyre Vics in the 2nd Round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup. The draw was made at Linlithgow Rose`s Ground today (10/10/10) and the tie will be played on Sat. 30th October 2010 with a 2pm Kick-Off.

Ashfield progressed through the First Round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup today (2/10/10) but only just against a very determined Carluke Rovers. Ashfield played some terrific Football in the First Half going in 4-1 up at the Interval & shortly after the restart Stevie Woods made it 5-1 for the `field. The game looked over as a contest however Carluke had other ideas and after pulling a goal back from the spot, the Lanarkshire men scored a further two goals in two Minutes to set up a rousing finale. Ashfield lost out this afternoon (25/9/10) after Clydebank came from behind to win 2-1 at a Sunny Saracen Park. It was another enjoyable encounter between the teams who seem to meet each other on a very regular basis. Ashfield visited Abbey Park, Kilwinning this afternoon for the first meeting between the teams since 1977 & for the Second Week running Ashfield lost a late goal to deny them taking any points back up the M77 to Glasgow. Everyone at Ashfield F & A C wish the `big Man` all the best for next Season & would like to thank him for his brilliant service to the Club, on & off the field. In addition Alan `Spider` Smith has been signed by Cambuslang Rangers after 5 Seasons at Saracen Park where he played an integral part of Ashfield`s progress from Central District Div 2 to the West SuperLeague First Div. Many thanks for your service Alan and all the best at Cambuslang. Another `Smith` has left the `field, Top Scorer of two Seasons ago Craig Smith has signed for Queens Park. Ashfield lost the Central League Cup Final this evening (1/6/10) by 2-0 after putting on a great showing, however it was Clydebank that triumphed after scoring a goal in each half. Ashfield were thwarted time & time again by Stefan Gonet in the Bankies Goal, who had a terrific Match, & was ably backed up by his defence. Ashfield produced an excellent Second Half display to take the three points against Annbank Utd this afternoon (24/04/10) at a sunny Saracen Park. The teams were level at half time but Darren O'Donnell opened the scoring after 75mins with Paul Maxwell sealing the victory shortly after with his 100th Goal for the 'Field'. Ashfield eventually defeated Thorniewood Utd this Evening on Penalties (4-2) after a very competitive 2-2 draw at Saracen Park in the Central League Cup 2nd Round. The `field however had to come from 2-0 down at Half Time to take the game to penalties. Second Half Goals from Paul Maxwell (His 99th for the Club) and Craig Smith ensured Spot-Kicks & it was fitting that Paul Maxwell scored the winning penalty to earn a Quarter Final Clash away to Cumbernauld Utd. Ashfield defeated a very spirited Johnstone Burgh side at Keanie Park this evening (14/04/10) by 3-2 in an entertaining Match. The `field played some great Football in the First Half but only went in with a slender 2-1 lead at the Interval, courtesy of goals from Chalmers and O`Boyle. Ashfield were almost made to pay for this in the Second Half, however Mark Thomson eventually sealed the victory with a brilliant Free-Kick to ensure the `field entertain Thorniewood United at Saracen Park next Wednesday (21/4/10) in the 2nd Round - Kick-Off 6.45pm. Ashfield made their first ever trip to Hamilton Park, Girvan today(10/04/2010) in the West SuperLeague First Division and what a game it turned out to be. A whirlwind Start from Ashfield, 30 Mins delay due to injury, 2 Goals from Paul Maxwell, 2 Goals from Darren O`Donnell and a thrilling finish from the home side made this a great spectacle to watch. Ashfield welcomed Renfrew FC to Saracen Park for the first time in many years this afternoon (27/3/10), however after a very bright opening, the `field lost 2 Second Half Goals to ensure the visitors left Springburn with the three points. Kilsyth Rangers 1 Ashfield 4. Ashfield produced a superb Second Half display to take the three points at Duncansfield Park, Kilsyth today (13/3/10). Goals from Paul Maxwell, Ali Martin (2) and Darren O'Donnell secured the victory. This result keeps the `field at the higher end of the Table in what is proving to be an extremely exciting West SuperLeague First Division. Ashfield bowed out of the West of Scotland Cup this afternoon (6/3/10) at Beechwood Park to a very talented Auchinleck Talbot Team who were determined to make amends for their Scottish Cup defeat last Month. Ashfield put in a very spirited show & the game could have been different if the `field had taken their early chances & had held on at 1-1 for a period, however Auchinleck proved why they are one of the best Junior Teams in Scotland with a very good attacking display and ran out convincing winners by 5-2. Cumnock 2 Ashfield 2 at Townhead Park, Cumnock this afternoon. An equaliser seven Minutes from time by Tony Chalmers ensured an excellent point for Ashfield at a very difficult venue. Darren O`Donnell had pulled Ashfield level in the first half, however Ashfield only finished the game with 9 Men. Ashfield have launched their new `Away Strip` which was worn for the first time in the 2-1 victory against Neilston last Saturday (13/2/10).




We would like to advise that Midfielder Davie Gumley has left the Club & has joined Cumbernauld United. Davie has been a magnificent servant to Ashfield on and off the `field over the last few years & has played a part in Ashfield`s resurgence from Central Division 2 to the SuperLeague First Division. All the best for the future Davie.


Ashfield`s first game of 2010 ended in a 2-1 victory this afternoon (13/2/2010) at home to Neilston F C. This crucial encounter was staged at New Petershill Park as Saracen Park`s water system is currently being repaired. Ashfield produced their best performance of the Season defeating Glenafton Athletic by 4-1 at Loch Park this afternoon(12/12/09) in the West SuperLeague First Division. With the game level (1-1) at the interval, the Men in Black & White produced a tremendous attacking display in the Second Half to record their first League victory since 3rd October. Ashfield were denied a share of the spoils by a Wonder strike from Clydebank Substitute Mark Hailstones at Saracen Park this afternoon (5/12/09). In a fiercely contested Match, the `field were thwarted by the impressive Stefan Gonet in the Bankies Goal in the Second Half in a game of few clear cut chances. Two First Half goals cost Ashfield dear as they went down 2-0 at Ladywell Park, Maybole this afternoon (28/11/09). The 'field came back strongly in the Second Half but despite many efforts they could not penetrate the Maybole rearguard. Ashfield suffered heartbreak at Saracen Park this afternoon (21/11/09) losing an injury time goal, via the penalty spot, to lose 1-0 to Whitletts Victoria. This had been the second penalty conceded by Ashfield, the first being missed & reducing Ashfield to 10 men with the dismissal of Chris Prior. Both teams put on a good show in dreadful weather conditions however it is the team from Ayr that will be celebrating this evening. Ashfield went down 3-1 in controversial circumstances at Western Park, Renfrew this afternoon (7/11/09) in the West SuperLeague First Division. It had been an excellent performance from Ashfield & despite having the bulk of possession & chances, the `field could not capitalise & lost 2 late goals in an incredible end to the game which saw 5 players Red-Carded - 4 for Ashfield & 1 for Renfrew. Ashfield crashed out of the Emirates Airline`s sponsored Scottish Junior Cup to St Anthony`s this afternoon (31/10/09) at McKenna Park. Trailing 1-0 at Half time & 3-0 midway through the Second Half, the `field fought back to narrowly lose out 3-2 in a frantic finish to the Match. Two late goal-line clearances & a missed penalty unfortunately were not turned into goals & the long wait for Junior Cup success now extends to 101 years. Ashfield were not in League Action this afternoon, however warmed up for next week`s Scottish Junior Cup Tie at St Anthony`s with a 7-0 win over Vale Of Leven at Alexandria. An excellent attacking display from the `field with goals from Chalmers (3), Carmichael (2), Thomson, & Jim Smith at a very difficult venue.




Ashfield struggled into the 2nd round of the West of Scotland Cup this afternoon (17/10/09) against a well organised & determined Newmains Utd. The scoreline after ninety minutes was 0-0 with the 'field winning 4-3 on Penalty Kicks with Tony Chalmers scoring the winning Penalty. Airlines Scottish Junior Cup 2nd Round Draw has been made and we have been drawn against St Anthony's away at McKenna Park on Saturday 31st October with a 2pm Kick-Off.

Ashfield lost out narrowly 3-2 in a pulsating 90 minutes against Rutherglen Glencairn at the New Clyde Gateway Stadium this afternoon (10/10/09). After taking the lead through Tony Chalmers midway through the first half, the `field conceded a couple of avoidable goals to find themselves chasing the game & despite Paul Maxwell pulling Ashfield level, another goal midway through the Second Half gave the home side victory. Ashfield continued their excellent League form this afternoon by defeating Kilsyth Rangers 3-0 at a windswept Saracen Park & now top the West SuperLeague First Division. New signing Del Carmichael opened the scoring in the first half with Paul Maxwell and Tony Chalmers adding the goals in the Second Half. Ashfield secured their 4th League Victory in a row to hit the top of the West SuperLeague First Division after defeating Maybole by 4-1 at Saracen Park this afternoon (26/9/09). Goals from Martin, Fraser, Thomson & Maxwell ensured Maybole`s first visit to Saracen Park since the 1950/1951 Season was not a happy one. Ashfield won their 3rd League game in a row by producing an outstanding display against a very good Cumnock side this afternoon (19/9/09). Two goals from Paul Maxwell in the first half & a terrific goal from Darren O`Donnell with 7 minutes remaining ensured a 3-1 win for the `field. A dramatic 89th Minute Winner by Darren O`Donnell ensured a memorable win for Ashfield this afternoon (12/9/09) against Clydebank at Holm Park. The `field had defended magnificently all afternoon and produced a few scary moments for Clydebank particularly in the Second Half before the goal which was put in by Darren after a cut back from Alistair Martin on the left.
